Shriekback's Cormorant
Shriekback's tenth album, Cormorant, is yet another exceptional collection of thought-provoking songs from a band that been creating brilliant music for more than two decades.
For those unfamiliar with the band, Cleartrails.com details Shriekback's history. I became a convert after seeing Shriekback play at U.C. Berkeley's Pauley Ballroom in 1985. I still have the concert t-shirt, much to my wife's dismay.
Shriekback's latest lineup includes Barry Andrews, Martyn Barker, and Mark Raudva, with contributions from Carlo Asciutti, Natasha Griffiths, Andy Partridge, and Wendy Partridge (no relation).
I was planning to write a review, but I've come across two reviews that say much of what I'd have said. So rather than reinvent the wheel, check out sonmunet.com and Studio M Live. Then visit Malicious Damage or Amazon.com to buy the CD. You'll be glad you did.
