Google Earth Scares Governments
Government officials around the globe have expressed alarm that Google Earth offers detailed pictures of government buildings, military installations and other important sites within their borders. For terrorists with intercontinental ballistic missiles, Google Earth no doubt saves a lot of time and effort that might be spent on transoceanic reconnaissance. It's not so useful for suicide bombers, who still need knowledge of the real world to deliver their explosives -- and that kind of information is available through Google Eyes. Government officials would do better to worry about restricting arms sales and whether their personal information can be found online. In fact, it's probably safe to say that cell phones have lead to more deaths than Google.
