Patent Contest

The History Channel, Time Magazine, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office are sponsoring The Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge, "a contest that invites the everyday inventor to share his/her vision and ingenious design with the world." Twenty-five semi-finalists will be offered a chance to have their invention exhibited and will "receive valuable information" (the URL of patent office application form?) to help them advance their ideas. From this group, four finalists will be chosen. They'll receive $2,500 and a consultation with someone smart. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded $25,000 and will have his/her invention named the 2006 "Modern Marvel of the Year." Apply within.
