Computer Gaming Addictive
Researchers at Berlin's Charité hospital have found that computer games can lead to addiction. Taking information gleaned from a group of 30 test subjects, researchers suggest that excessive playing of computer games activates the same structures in the brain as alcohol or cannabis. In another study, researchers surveyed around 7,000 gamers in an effort to see whether there was a link between gaming and violent behavior. While 12 percent showed signs of addictive behavior, the researchers saw no link between excessive computer game playing and aggression. However, a Michican State University study from 2001 asserts there's a link between video games and hostility. As for the cause of conflicts prior to the advent of pong, science has no answer.
