The Spam Protection Act
From a press release sent today by California State Senator Debra Bowen:
"The President's signature on the CAN-SPAM Act simply signed e-mail users up for a lifetime supply of unsolicited electronic ads they didn't ask for and they don't want," continued Bowen. "The reality is Internet businesses - including the likes of Microsoft and AOL - that supported the federal bill don't want to see spam go away. They want to make money off of it by selling people spam filtering services, bigger e-mail inboxes, and by charging marketers who want to send e-mail ads to MSN, Hotmail, and AOL account holders."
Shoddy products, thus, are better for the economy because they generate revenue for third-party solution providers and sustain more support jobs. Show me a garage that prefers a well-made car to a lemon.
